| Commentary | Anstead is a sparsely populated outlying rural acreage community around 20km south-west of Brisbane's CBD. The suburb is surrounded by waterways and its large blocks of land make for a peaceful lifestyle. Like nearby Pullenvale and Brookfield, acreage living is the main attraction in the suburb; however, its greater distance from the Brisbane CBD make land prices more affordable. Anstead largely relies on the commercial, retail and sporting facilities of its neighbours including the Moggill Country Club and the Bellbowrie District Sports and Recreation Association located in Booker Place Park where there is a soccer field. The thriving retail district of the nearby suburb of Kenmore is only a 10 minutes drive away and there are also commercial facilities available. The Bellbowrie Plaza Shopping Centre services the Anstead community's retail requirements, as does the Bellbowrie public swimming pool. The only educational facility in the area is Moggill State School. The closest state high schools are in Kenmore or Indooroopilly. Housing styles vary with some modern brick and tile low-set and high-set examples, as well as acreage-style Queenslander homes with sweeping balconies. Source: REIQ |
