| Features | Proximity to Southport business centres, golf course, Griffith University, Pacific Motorway |
| Commentary | As with its neighbour Arundel, the suburb of Parkwood rolls out across the low hills west of Southport and is surrounded by fantastic golf courses. Both Parkwood and Arundel are potential key residential growth areas that benefit from easy access to the Pacific Motorway, Helensvale Rail Station, Griffith University and the Broadwater. Parkwood is a popular address for tenants and, as a result, has attracted many investors. The area has become a student hot spot -- the university is only five minutes drive -- and is also popular with hospital workers, who have an easy, 15-minute commute to the Gold Coast Hospital. Nevertheless, the area's popularity has put pressure on owner-occupiers, who have to compete with students and tenants for parking spaces. There is very little new land available in Parkwood and what does exist is generally sold as part of house-and-land packages by developers. There are major shopping centres in nearby Arundel and Molendinar. Parkwood is home to the Parkwood International Golf Course and the Gold Coast Country Club is just across the Coombabah Creek in Gaven. Source: REIQ |
