Commentary	The peaceful suburb of Springbrook is about an hour south-west of Sufers Paradise and offers residents an unparalleled lifestyle. Surrounded by the waterfalls, ancient beech trees, and lush sub-tropical rainforests, Springbrook is a popular spot for tourists seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise. The extensive walking tracks through Springbrook National Park -- which were closed during 2008 due to heavy rain -- are a major drawcard, and the area offers spectacular views of the Gold Coast from its many lookouts. The Natural Bridge, located at the southern end of the park, is home to a colony of glow worms, which twinkle on its rocky ceilings at night. Springbrook's pristine beauty doesn't lend itself to the many comforts of the big city and suburbia, so residents have to drive to access many facilities. The closest major shopping centre is located approximately 30km north at Robina, which is also home to the closest train station. The area does have a school bus, however, which takes students to nearby Mudgeeraba and Robina. The suburb has its own state school -- Springbrook SS -- but older students have to venture further north. One of the Gold Coast's most prestigious schools, Somerset College, is relatively short trip away in Mudgeeraba. The area is well-liked by families, who make up the majority of its residents. Because of its popularity with tourists, Springbrook is also home to a vast array of quiet cafes, restaurants and mountain retreats, which offer ample employment opportunities.
